Snowfall
by GIULIO57
See EXIF for tech-news. I shooted this photo inside a garden last year, after snowfall on Florence. I had K20 D with me, only! While taking pics I was thinking about right subjects to convert into a BW file (Original digital files were RGB and not monochromatic: I didn’t select this last option). As a rule I use following steps to convert an RGB file into a BW one:
Open file-Then choose Image-Adjustment- Open: Tone and Saturation(choose NO saturation)-Again from Adjustment : Choose Mixer Channels (select monochromatic)-Then use sliders of Red-Blu-Green filters(total amount of deviations must be 100)-Then Levels or Curves-Then Contrast to control Lights or Dark or Shade areas. Use Burn or Clear to apply these other effects in different areas. ONLY at the end I choose Method and Scale of grey. Save your result and look at it on monitor or print. (I’m referring to Photoshop 7).
It’s important to use sliders of Mixer Channel and to play with to get the right result because it is like to use Green or Yellow or Red or Orange coloured filters in analogic BW photography.
I hope you’ll like all above. If you need more news send me a message by means Pentax User mail service.
