Singing Robin

Every day I hear the Robin sing and by the time I am out with my camera, he's off. Today was my lucky day to see and hear him sing. The question remains – does he sing for his mate … or just likes to ?

Robins are homicidally territorial, they're basically warning any other robins that's this is their patch, come round here and expect to be pecked! They also do it early in the morning because it's too dark to fly around and it's the only way to stop intruders.
