It's winter cherry I think. I really love the bokeh which complements the foreground to perfection
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I had quite a job getting this focussed as the DA55-300 couldn't make up its mind what to lock onto, and kept jumping in & out.
I tried using the 'quickshift' but then the camera disagreed and wouldn't fire !
Eventually I got THIS shot !

I did get the impression that it was giving you trouble since it seems to want to lock onto the stamen tips as the most contrasty items.
It's the bokeh that makes it however.
Vive les M42s - they don't make their own decisions!

You are quite right, David.
But when you are out for a walk with just one lens you take what you can get !
However, the end result is what they call serendipity !
