Very nice compo and beautiful colour rendition! What a variety of lenses do you have, Andrew! And they all work so well with you!

Thanks, Nezih.

I do have a lot of very old, prime lenses. I love using them and, because they're not zooms (mostly) and designed for 35mm film, the quality is surprisingly good. I also try to use them at moderate apertures, avoiding extremes. I make it a rule never to pay more than a few pounds for them. Photography is, after all, only a hobby!
Best wishes,

Andrew

This is a good lesson to learn Andrew, to pay much less and achieve more than expected! And of course, not to push the limits. I'll try to find some, and I'm sure working with them manually will teach me a lot. Thank you!

Ah distant memories!

We always went to Sidmouth, when I was little lad, is Jacobs Ladder still there?

Kindest Regards,

Peter.

Thanks everyone.

Nezih, E-bay is still a good source of cheap lenses and yes, you do learn a lot about focusing. Manual focus is great fun and reconnects you with the craft. And as old lenses have distance markings and apertures on the barrel you can use hyper-distance focusing...

Peter, Jacob's Ladder is still there defying health and safety! We ascended it just after I took this shot. Sidmouth doesn't change and remains the most retrained and genteel resort in the South West.
Best wishes,

Andrew
