A lot going on, but the guy in the wheelchair can't get near to see what it is.
Taken at York on Saturday as the crowd gathered to watch or photograph the preserved steam loco Union of South Africa leave for London on the Tynesider charter train.
Views on whether the overhead electric cables should be kept in or cloned out welcome. Personally I think it adds to the pattern

My first thought, on seeing the picture, was to make a connection between the wheels of the chair and the pulley for the wires

I think I would be tempted to clone the cables out David, difficult choice really. I also think this shot might be a candidate for mono with some selective colour popping on the guy in the wheelchair.

I think I'd like it to be there David. As Barrie says the mind makes a connection, and it is nice.

I agree with Jim. I think the cables don't add anithing to the composition, don't related to the exclusion. Maybe I would crop the top of the picture, too. And the colour pop is a great idea to help focus on the figure in the wheelchair.

Tnanks for the comments. I'll rework this without the overhead cables. I was in two minds about them all along. as they add to the picture but are not relevant to the story line. The colour pop is a good idea.

A well observed situation and a great.. Personally I would do a much tighter crop on this as . For me the crowd to the left of the lady in the dark green coat and the sky don't enhance the photo or it's poignancy.
Re colour pop, maybe it would work although the only bit you'd notice would be the hat and stripes. I am not a fan of colour pop personally, but I would probably play with it as mono or with the curves.
Dunno if the helps, it sounds like I am being critical when I really like it.

If I do a pop I'll only slightly desat the crowd and not do a full mono to enhance the wheelchair figure.
That's not sky, its a mixture of fog, rain and steam from the locomotive.
