I have been experimenting with black and white conversions. In this image I toned the shadows, highlights and midtones separately. The big question is - does it work?

Yes, the toning is one of the best things about it! I also like the way you've used the shandows to draw the eye into the picture.

Thanks for your comments, I think I am on the right track but that yellow corner does distract the eye.
Samsung GX10, Tamron 18-250, Tamron 90mm Macro, Sigma 50-500mm, Sigma 10-20mm.
Pentax W30 for when conditions are really bad.
Olympus c3030 for IR when I have the time.
