First fumbling shot with the K10D.
I know the wing tip is missing but it goes to show what a great camera this is!Used Pentax 50-200mm lens.

Real love the composition and colour, also encouraged that you shot it with a 50mm focal lens, as I dont have a long lens and this proves you can get great results with standard kit

Of course you can take stunning pictures with standard kit and this photo proves it. Gulls do come in close and you've made the most of this close encounter. It's beautfully sharp and has real impact.
You wouldn't get a golden eagle or osprey like this with a standard lens though.

Thanks for the compliments. This was actually taken with the pentax telephoto 50-200.But you're right it was at the focal length of 50mm.You also have to get in close and use a few tricks like bread, wear camo clothes and walk very slowly!!My time in the Army has helped to get really close and also a lttle bit of luck! Once again cheers.Ade

ps.love to see a Golden Eagle!!

Nice shot, well tempted to you, just as long as it did not leave a deposit on your lens.
