Hi Mongoose, thanks for the comments, much appreciated. The effect was applied in post processing, using the 'Radial Blur' filter in Photoshop. To do this the blur was applied to a second layer and then the layer opacity was reduced so that the blur was not too strong. I then erased parts of the second layer to leave the areas of blur only where I wanted them.cool effect, was it applied in post or in camera? sort of looks like a zoom-during-exposure, but obviously can't have been since it's a prime lens....
Thanks to Shaun Wilson, master processor, for giving me the knowledge to use Photoshop even a fraction as well as he can.
