Andrew, it's an eye-catching scene but the light is a bit harsh (harsh light in England?!) & direct removing detail from the gate, washing it out & flattening the scene.
Nice shot nonetheless.

Do you know, you're right, Ian. it was too near mid-day and the sun was shining right on the front. Easy for me to go back later in the year and reshoot.
