Red barge

View across the Loire from Chęnehutte.
This part of the river splits from time to time to go round the many islands. In very dry years such as this year, some of the 'arms' dry up completely. If we get a reasonable amount of rain and the Loire gets filled nearer its source, the many exposed sandbanks will be completely covered.
Unfortunately we have had 10 years of dry winters which is not good for "the garden of France".

Thank you, Larry. Probably not the most interesting view of the Loire, but certainly a typical view during the dry season !
