Electrodes Dead
by davidstorm
Went to Magna in Rotherham yesterday, a fascinating, but very challenging location for photography, especially if you have no tripod with you, as I didn't. It's very dark inside, but there are lots of shapes, textures and shadows to play with.
For those not familiar, Magna is a tourist attraction located in the former Templeborough Rolling Mills, a huge former Steelworks.
I might have to organise a day out there for the PU members in and around the Sheffield area, it would make for some great images and would be interesting to see how different people deal with the conditions there to get some great shots.
This image is some detail of one of the furnaces whilst a demonstration was underway, explaining how the steel was smelted.

Quite interesting indeed. The compo is super, the colors and shadow textures are fascinating.
Very cool. Was it shot through a window?
It's too bad the PU afternoon would be on the other side of the planet, would love to come along

Hi JMD, no it wasn't through a window, it probably looks a bit 'hazy' due to the smoke from the furnace displayQuite interesting indeed. The compo is super, the colors and shadow textures are fascinating.
