Herd Groyne Lighthouse
The old Victorian lighthouse on Herd Groyne, South Shields at the mouth of the Tyne. Made pretty much entirely of iron. I've always thought it looked like a space ship. Very long exposure.

Great angle, it looks like something from "War of the Worlds".

Kettering Northants
I've lived away from S/S for a long time now but when I go back I stay at the hotel just behind the groyne.
I se the North pier just through the legs and the South Shields pier just to the right.
When not away on holiday I spent most of my summers on the beach between the groyne and the pier, known as the little beach as the big beach is beyond the pier to the right.
Thanks for the memories.
CHEERS Vic.
