I like the way the tone emphasises the soldity of the steelwork, it is very effective. I think I might have cropped the top to lose the partial slot as it acts against the symmetry.
How big is the castellated nut? it looks enormous.

I agree about cropping the top, I should have thought of it, but was captivated by the rest of the picture. Lesson learnt - be more careful, and critical of my own work. The castelated nut is about 3 inches across the flats.
