Thanks Gabor and Bob. The squirrels in Twickenham are rather 'tame', or at least if you have any nuts with you they'll pretty much take your fingers off! (and they can hear the rustling of a bag of nuts from miles away). I put one or two on the ground at the foot of a bench I was idly sitting on and held the camera down at ground level, and this is the result

Very good shot. Very well focused on the face. I see you used a very "shallow" depth of field which is interesting, as I would automatically have used f8 or f11.
Background without distractions is an added bonus.
Best aspect of all is that you are down at the critter's level staring him right in the eyes !
