Thanks Paul and Clif,
That green thing on the left is a leaf and I left it there on purpouse, but you migth be right, it may be a bit too distracting.
I will see how it looks if I clone it away.
And the background is really dark red, not black, but almost

I do like this shot and like the bud next to it.
One teansy thing that has caught my eye and I don't like and that's the green bit on the left hand side of the large petal. On such a nice black background, this green patch stands out like a sore thumb...well to me it does
