Bamburgh Castle from 2000ft

by McBrian

Although not the greatest weather it was clear enough on Thursday to finally allow me to complete my 60th birthday present at the 3rd time of asking The flight was from East Fortune in East Lothian down to Eshott in Northumberland then back over Alnwick then up the coast to Cove and back to East Fortune.

Shooting from a microlight is not easy easy, very cramped behind the pilot and with a full face visor it was difficult to frame the shots, I thought the rear screen wold be fine but no it was crap, had to just see what I could see through the viewfinder and hope for the best and if you touched any part of the trike the vibration was pretty severe.

Impressive POV. From above castle looks like as made using wet sand along seaside

Nice shot, well framed as well. I do like aerial shots as they show an unusual perspective.

Well done

Lucky you, an excellent birthday present if I may say so. A fabulous shot even better considering the difficult circumstances

Ignoring modern weaponry for a moment, you can clearly see why these things were nigh impregnable in their day.
Nice result in trying circumstances
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Now, that's one of the best views I've seen of Bamburgh for many a year!
