'Lone'

by Wildwood512

From the archives: A lovely aged & weathered barn about 3 miles from my home. It was unfortunately torn down shortly after I took this picture.

That's wonderful, Donna. Like a painting by Andrew Wyeth. Imagine Christina sprawled in the foreground, the barn out of her reach.
I do admire the colours. (colors?)
Best wishes,

Andrew

Shame it got pulled down, but great you captured it so well before that happened - and its colours; not colors

Thanks Andrew. Glad you caught that 'painted' feeling, as that's what I was going for.
(BTW..still debating on that lens purchase)

Very nice Donna. I too like the 'painted' effect. I also like the rich strata layers in the bottom third...lovely complementary colours!

It's just like a bright watercolour (spelt properly, please note ) and the "stripes" at the bottom just make it better.

Dreadful US/ UK joke:
A Brit and an American are waiting for a train, which has just come into sight. The American looks at his watch and says, "Right on skedule!" The Brit says, "It's 'schedule'. Where did you learn to speak like that?" To which the American replied, "Well, I guess I must have learned it at shool."

Don't get her wound up lads: American women attend compulsory assertiveness lessons and they have no use for the word "submissive"... allegedly.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Thank you Bjørn.
Thank you, Alan.
Yes it is ashame that some of these vintage landmarks of old that dot the landscape with an historical charm are coming to extinction of sorts. Many of these old barns are just that, old and are falling apart terribly due to lack of maintainance. So to avoid total delapadation or high cost of repair, they are removed. Others are being removed to free up the land for other uses. I try to seize the moment and shoot these barns whenever I see one as I never know their future fate.
Cheers...Donna 😊

Who cares! I learnt it as 'colours' in the school but like so many other things unlearned, now it's colors for me. Strangely, neighbourhood doesn't have half the feel as neighborhood!
