Morning in the Malvern valley
A year or so ago Mr Nigelk told me the DA* 50-135mm was a nice lens for landscape. Up until then I'd always thought of wider angles for landscape but now I really appeciate what he said and how a longer lens can simplify and make for a more effective image.
This is a heavy crop of an image I posted a few months ago. I got up early to catch the sunrise. I took it at 85mm. However, if I'd zoomed in with 300mm I think I'd have got a better shot of the misty layers. Forget the sun, we've all seen it before!

Like the initial ambiguity of the top 2/3 of the landscape appearing to be clouds. Like.

A lovely scene well captured and the treatment works very well.
It's reminiscent of Victorian/Edwardian watercolours ?

Captures the essence of that area very nicely, having originally come from down the road in Pershore - and Nigel is quite right the 50-135 is fabulous for landscape work to pick out the details.

The photographer pointing the lens at the right thing is the most important bit. Lovely shot.
