Nice shot, I vote to keep the strip of background on the right

I don't mind you suggesting this at all, guys. Funnily enough I thought the same thing and found the right hand strip a distraction BUT when I cropped the shot the picture became so unblanaced it almost fell over! It's as much to do with tonal balance as structure, I think. So, although I'm not totally happy with the result, I think Tim may be right.if I may I must say IMO if you cut out the right hand side and just leave the post it will look great, hope you don’t mind me saying

my 5 cents regarding the crop - I think the right hand strip is absolutely OK- I would have cropped a slightly different proportion - same hight but bigger width by adding another 150-200 pixel on the left hand side (showing some more of the horizon beside the pier. But also the way it is a great photo (also because I find rust often very fascinating ....

I see what you mean, Axel: it is a bit "tight" on the left.
