Side Light - Colour Version
by davidstorm
As Jules astutely pointed out in the Forum today, this image was shot at the bus stop in Patterdale, Cumbria. What I like about it (apart from the image itself) is that it was shot with the DA L 55-300 lens, one of my favourite pieces of glass and a great tool for isolating parts of a landscape.
I spotted the tree on the left as I was walking down the footpath and waited for a few minutes until the sun lit up the left of the tree.

Excellent use of the 55-300 David, a first rate image

What amazing detail (far too many molehills !) - and almost a 3D effect.
Interesting to see how this lens performs with the K5iis ..... !

Another Masterpiece, David
It just goes to show that one does NOT always need a wide angle lens for landscapes and also that the DA(L) 55-300 CAN be used as a 'carry around' lens.
Great work (as usual !)
Best regards
Peter

I always use it this way Peter, never go anywhere without it! It is great for certain situations you encounter when on a walk and it has never let me down.Another Masterpiece, David

I like the light, almost vignette like at the top half of the picture which draws the eye down to the house and tree.
