Thanks for the commentary and I stand humbly corrected. I must admit that for me, birds are animals that flutter, chirp, soar, circle, and swoop in the air above or around our heads, or are earth-bound and scrabble, cluck, swim, run around or/and are eaten and have different sizes and colours. Totally ignorant. I shall look it up - after having shamefully amended the title. Have a good day and thanks again and keep on truckin'.

Actually they did look a bit small (and many) and silently kept changing branches up there and not strutting about fearlessly on the snowy sidewalk.

If you see a Crow in a crowd it's a Rook.
If you see a Rook on its own it's a Crow.
Rooks tend to roost/nest together and Crows are solitary creatures.
Just a thought. I thought you might like to look it up.
