River Clyde from Port Glasgow

A short walk across across a car park and along a slippery stone shore took me to the fantastic view across the Firth of Clyde through the timber ponds. The ponds are what remains from the days of wooden ship building and were put in to prevent the seasoned timber from floating away. With a 35mm lens fixed on my Pentax 645z I mounted the manfroto 055 carbon and took the shot at F16 and 1/4 of a second, with a two second delay and locked mirror I countered any excessive mirror slap or vibration from my hands. I would have loved to have used a ND grad but this new lens has an 82mm filter ring and I don't have an 82mm fitment yet. A small amount of lightroom adjustment left me feeling satisfied with this gorgeous photograph which not only shows off the natural beauty of Scotland but also celebrates the history of the river Clyde
