Some macro shots work and some do not. For me this does not. I find it far too busy. Maybe try again with fewer pins but in a regular pattern and watch the light reflections on the pin heads. Great idea though. Has got me thinking and maybe try something similar,

This shot was taken as part of a series when trying to create an entry for the "Mystery Macro" competition. I was trying very hard to make sure they did not obviously look like pins. I did have a shot with them nicely spaced but it was obvious what they were.

I just liked the shocking colour, surface detail and reflections in this shot. However in the end I choose a different shot as my entry which you can see here.
