Tried the B+W approach after your suggestion Flan but wasn't happy with it.

The next image in the sequence is better from a technical viewpoint but wasn't as dramatic given that it was well away from the ground.

Ultimately it was a chilly, grey, early January day at a northern airport...

I'll post one more image from the morning with a bit more colour.
