Gibb Tor

by sandinista

Gibb Tor is in the Black Brook Nature Reserve close to the Roaches in Staffordshire. It is managed by the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. The rocks were bathed in warm golden sunlight when I took this shot.

Simply superb - the trademark of your shots is the foreground detail that goes all the way back into the picture and this one is no exception. What makes this one for me though is the view on the left into the distance and the fabulous sky which has just the right amount of graduation applied to give it drama. Finally, the light is just about perfect and highlights the main subject (rock) and the tufted grasses perfectly.

You might guess that I like this picture.

Use of selective focus on foreground makes this landscape more interesting...When viewed large it seems to be inside the action-path

Very engaging view and such delightful light. I like the subtle energy of the whispy clouds rolling by and the wind blown grasses too

The light just brushing the top of the grass is delightful.
