St Ann's Church

by johnriley

Here's one from earlier today. We went into Manchester using the Guided Busway and I took Alice (my smallest Billingham Bag) along with Sue and Sophie (real people!). I had the K-1 with 28-105mm and 20-35mm lenses, just travelling light. This is the interior of St Ann's Church, in St Ann's Square. I shot in Monochrome and the windows have held reasonably well - not as good perhaps as a proper tripod shot and HDR, but OK for a roving travel shot with no real time to dally. I quite liked the end result, all comments welcome.

I'm not sure I would have liked that in HDR. It could end up clinical whereas here you have captured the rich patina of the woodwork and even the paintwork on those pillars.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I've photographed similar subject matter on a number of occasions using HDR which I've always been quite pleased with, however, for a single handheld shot this has worked really nicely. Well done John, we taught you well!!
