Stockbridge Down
by stevesphotos
Landscapes with a 70mm Ltd .... This was originally part of a bigger scene (when I was shooting it with a 21mm), but I noticed this pattern when reviewing that shot.
This was actually taken with a 10 stop ND filter on the front, the plan was to have some swooping clouds, but it wasn't windy enough, however, because the sun was just out of the scene to the left, it flared on the front of the filter, giving this orange glow to the whole photo (which has a bit of a marmite effect on opinion) ... ok for anyone not in the uk ... 'love it or hate it' .... I think because the 70mm Ltd doesn't have that many internal surfaces there isn't any flare inside the lens and it managed to keep a decent amount of contrast... or I was lucky.
(a 'Down' is a gently rolling hill btw)

The landscape is lovely Steve, but I have to admit that I hate the orange glow. Thanks for uploading it and explaining it so well, I'm sure that as you say some others will love the effect.
