Nice compo, Andy. The lines of the roads either side below the hills plus the line of the ridge give the impression of movement as if you were a fighter pilot heading fast for the lake !

You are also obviously fitter than me, all my shots of Grassmere were taken walking around the village !

It is certainly worth the effort if you can get up there - its one of the Wainwright walks that Julia Bradbury did with BBC a few years back. Its not the highest by any means but on a clear day you get views all round of the other hills

I went up there in March with Shaun Wilson (Puma) and we got caught in 100mph winds and horizontal hail pelting us like bullets! The views from up there are truly breathtaking.

I really like this one, but I do think it lacks a little clarity / sharpness? I'm unsure if this was the weather, the lens or something else, but it seems a little flat compared to some of your recent images?

Hi David - we certainly didn't have winds like that!! The light was beautiful when we set out from The village up until almost this point when it became overcast and the rest of the walk up to the head of therange and down the valley of the Easedale was all under cloud - but a great walk nevertheless!.

You are right in your criticism. Have taken that on board and reworked the image and reposted - hope you approve!!
