Orion Rising

by Spad

I haven't posted anything in a while, as I have been more interested in doing deep sky stuff...

But on Saturday night instead of dragging all my big kit out, I decided to do an all Pentax gear shoot. It was also my first attempt at imaging Barnard's Loop in the Orion Constellation.

Kit used - Pentax K3, Pentax DA* 16-55mm f2.8 set at 50mm at f4, Cokin Clearsky LPF, and an iOptron SkyTracker Pro.

99 x 60sec exposures at ISO1600.

Stacked & stretched in Pixinsight, then PP'd with Photoshop and Topaz DeNoise.

All those stars ! (view it full sized) And some poor person once thought that Terra was the center of the entire universe.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

David.... I have actually turned the stars down a bit, so they don't swamp the nebulea....

There should be a lot more!
