9F at speed
9F 92212 heads away from me at a recent photocharter on the Mid-Hants Railway. A panned "going away" shot to take advantage of the golden light. K5 and DA 18-135WR

The cloud of steam adds a softness to the hard edged image while providing movement into the golden light. - well executed, tg

That's a terrific action shot of one of the best British steam locomotive designs of all time, the 9F. It has great panning added to lovely light.

Although not a view that I subscribe to, I can see in your shot why some peeps say that steam photography should only tackled during the Autumn/Winter months. Excellent steam exhaust and side lighting, and panned to perfection.
