It's an excellent lens. The photozone review focuses on the things it doesn't do but between 24mm and 70mm it's incredibly sharp across the frame at f/8. Then at the long end it's still sharp in the centre which is usually what you want. And at 18mm it's still resolving over 2000 lw/ph across the frame.
So you just need to remember not to use it at 18mm wide open for a landscape shot, with the K-5 then it's easier to just boost the ISO to 200 rather than use f/3.5.
