Howard, I can't decive you. The lady wife grew these in a pot in the kitchen. They opened out in a rare shaft of February sunshine which back-lit them on the window sill. So I was able to get a tripod to them at a nice working height.
I must say, I like that Russian lens: it's very distinctive, the way it renders scenes. Someone on the forum recommended one (they go for reasonable money on e-bay). Mine's a bit battered and war weary but the optics are find.

As I say, a most interesting lens I can't really explain the effect and a few were made with a K mount (very sought after!) Mine has a stop-down ring, which is convenient. As you were saying about the 18-55 mk1, I wouldn't mind betting that they're all different!
