The ills that affect oak trees and their acorns

by davidwozhere

Like most trees, oaks have had a bumper year but so have their parasites, many of which involve wasps turning acorns into nurseries. They all go under the generic name of "galls" and the only variant I failed to find was the ordinary 'oak apple' - (prized for producing black ink).

K1 with a 105mm Schneider Kreuznach lens from 1939 at f11. With a focusing helicoid between the body and the lens this combination results in a macro lens with wonderful deep colours.

One word missing from lens description - "Radionar". ... wonderful bit of kit.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
