Norman Tower
by Nigelk
Whilst in town playing with my camera and the Christmas lights I took the opportunity to do some classic bracketed nighttime shots. This is the Norman Tower, Bury St Edmunds

It's a lot of light. I had a play with it in mono with an IR filter and it didn't look bad at all to me. Blue filter adds too much contrast.
Keeping it colour: Just adjusting the mid point level to 0.6 adds a mood change.
Either way it has a lot of potential.
Best regards
I've had a play with a B&W conversion and I do prefer it to this version

Probably my favourite form of photography but it's a long time since I practised it primarily down to those members of the public, mainly the younger element, who found it necessary to stand in front of the camera fully aware that I was taking a long exposure. I have taken a few hand-held HDRs in more recent times but a tripod seems to attract the wrong types!
You were lucky to have no-one around.
Love it!
