Seen out while walking this afternoon. These were sunbathing on the end of a rotten log & quite undisturbed by me & my

Great shot Roger, we don't seem to see the wild lizards where I live (South Sheffield) but Grass Snakes are quite common and we have them in our garden. I am going to try and photograph them this year if I can, but they are quite elusive!

I think Charlotte got it right, in that they are very confident of their camoflage upto the point when the risk becomes too great, then they rely on that fantastic acceleration to get away from danger.
