No. It is a very real tomato on a wooden work surface and which shall be eaten tomorrow with cruel enthusiasm. But not cut with that knife. Pinch of pepper.

Looks over saturated to me, which has lead to it appearing a bit plastic.

I wonder how this would look completely top down onto the chopping board?

Thanks for the comment, though I'm not sure what "I wonder how this would look completely top down onto the chopping board?" means. The photo is indeed saturated. Without indulging in publicity, I do a lot of processing using Apple PHOTO and T*N*L*TY linked to it as an extension.

ps : A thought. Perhaps antipodal tomatoes look different?
pps : I'll try a kiwi next and make it look like an opaque emerald.
