Caught very effectively. How many Lancs are there in England now? Nice to see them stretching it out once in a while. I think we have maybe 10 of them in Canada, but I'll consult the Oracle to check on the figure.

I am not absolutley certain but I think there are only two in the UK. This one which is stationed at RAF Coningsby with the the Battle of Britian Memorial Flight it along with another in Canada are currently the only airworthy ones in the world. There is another down the road from us at East Kirkby Aviation Heritage Centre. It has been lovingly restored over many years, I think the owners hope one day it may become airworthy. Thanks for your copmments (above). I also meant to say there are several in Canada in various states of neglect and not at all airworthy. The airworthy one is just down the road from me at Hamilton Air Museum. It performs annually at the Toronto air show.

I think the Canadian one visited RAF Coningsby and toured around the UK but suffered an engine failure which meant having to borrow an engine to get back home. I think they borrowed a new engine from The RAF Coningsby BBMF. link
