It is the current name of Queenstown, Co. Cork, and the last port of call for the Titanic before the fateful crossing. I was just reading about it in Amateur Photographer on the train this morning. Cue Twilight Zone music...

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

But named wrongly. This is the Union Flag. NOT the Union Jack. The Union Jack does not have the red diagonal cross on it. It was the forerunner of the Union Flag. Not to worry though everyone makes the same mistake. Just me being pedantic. It's even the right way up!!
CHEERS Vic.
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

You're on stony ground with that one Vic! I've always accepted the terminology as you've stated it but it has never been official. The Union flag minus the red saltire (representing Ireland) was the flag of Great Britain pre-1801. One for later discussion!
