Yep, a Z pattern Southern Cross windmill - 8' or 10' I would guess & last made more than 50 years ago. This one looks in good order too although the platform would give many the heebeejeebees - they never had a great platform but this one isn't even up to that low standard.
A bit too tight on the sides. Tones are good & the subtle vignette works.
The changing shadows on the sails makes this more interesting.

Thanks Ian - an 8' diameter it certainly is. Up near Hay in NSW, and fairly late in the day (a warmish one too). Thanks for looking!
