Posession (RHS/HC)
by MattMatic
This was one of the three reasons I was at Hampton Court... photographing Tony Smith's gardens (still can't believe he did three for one show!!)
This garden is as the title: Possession.
LR4 was used to correct the distortion, slight CA, and purple fringing round the middle window that was evident from the DA12-24.
It's hard to portray the effect of seeing this for real... one of those treats that jumps out and surprises you from inside
Enjoy large!

This garden was inspired by a Radio 4 programme about pharmaceutical companies, patenting compounds they have synthesised from rainforest plants. It questions who should benefit from the discovery of these useful and lucrative species.
We must strive to manage the rainforests in a way that benefits us all. It should be remembered that it is the indigenous tribes that have the strongest claim to possession of the forest, even though they would probably be the first to recognise that they themselves are part of the forest and not its owner - a notion that we would all do well to consider.
Technically it was really challenging to capture with something like 5 stops difference between inside and outside. This shot is at ISO 3200 at 1/20s handheld (since I couldn't get inside) and (even if I say so myself) looks stunning at 18x12".This garden was inspired by a Radio 4 programme about pharmaceutical companies, patenting compounds they have synthesised from rainforest plants.
