I agree, I think that the left side is too dark. Initially I was thought it should be about the same level as the shadowed walls on the right, but looking at the original I saw that the walls on the left do use a darker brick.
Not that there's any need to feel contrained by reality!

I used to live in Hamburg but I think it has changed hugely since then, particularly alongside the canals.

A nice geometric perspective with the 'rows and columns' of the windows on the right.
IMHO the darker left does not detract - instead, the lighter RHS grabs the eye and leads you into the picture.
Also, the use of B&W and the dark left add to a dramatic image.

Nice perspective - most pictures are from a center position - also nice to see this variant).....
Left part a bit dark but I like the picture
