The genuine article

Owing to the current interest in making new images look old, I thought you might like to see an old image looking new.
A few years ago a friend presented me with a box of about 30 glass plates and asked if I could recover them. He found them in a cold frame in his fathers garden and knew they were of his family. He was dying to find out what was on them. I photographed them and spent ages cloning out the spots and mildew. This is one of the better ones from early 1900's.

Ah that's when having a photograph taken was an event.
Best wishes,

Fabulous image. The hats are a little odd - it looks like they have cakes on their heads!

Thanks fellows, I'm glad you approve.
I'm sure an expert in ladies hats would be able to date this photo more accurately. I can't see this fashion coming back but no never know!
Kind regards, Bob
