Some marbles

by davidwozhere

A Nissin optical trigger, a 1970s Helios compact off-camera flash and a bit of folded bubble wrap held in front of the K5's on-board flash as a diffuser helped this along. The marbles were sitting on the ceramic hob in the kitchen. The lens was a Pentax M 100mm macro.
There's not much technical input. The Helios power is controlled by how far away you put it and the K5 flash intensity is controlled by how many times you fold the bubble wrap. The camera was set at 160th sec with ISO 400. There is a set of these on the 'Forum' page.

Very nice David - shows you don't always need the latest and greatest kit to get good results!

I appreciate the technical notes you supply David. This one invites me to study its details after catching my attention with its bold composition. Bravo!

It was fun doing it. Thank you for your encouragement.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
