A Big Cog in a Bigger Wheel

Today we visited Otterton Mill - a working historic waterwheel powered mill in Devon.
This is a detail of the mill's Crown Wheel, its individual cogs can be replaced just by knocking a worn one out and banging in a new one. Shortly after this the mill was run and flour produced.

Thanks David.
You're right the whole machine was surprisingly quiet when milling, it made a lovely regular musical rhythmical sound. The miller's said you can tell by the sound if it running well or something is amiss.

Great idea for a picture and well presented with lots of detail. It just asks you to keep looking at it.
