Fishing in the North Sea
Too minimal? Probably.
Hmm, somehow the Gallery shows up the lens vignette more.

Mmmmmmmmmmm, for what it is or is not worth. I'd crop about a 1/4 off the bottom and remove the annoying black speck of a boat on the horizon and correct the vignetting. And another thing, it almost looks as if the boat has been placed there. Is that the processing or has it been? It's tough to tell with such a small image.
I think it works well.

Thanks Nigelk. I do appeciate the suggestions. I was reaaly 'testing the water' with this one.
It's odd why the vingnetting looks a lot worse when uploaded here. Certainly something to fix.
Not sure about losing the bottom. I do want to convey the expanse.
I like the dot on the horizon, but I'm probably alone on that. At full res you can make out the net floats that lead to it.
The boat really was there but yes, I did do a bit of selective processing on it, which may have been a mistake.

If you insist on keeping the bottom 1/4, I can't help but notice that in that bottom section the highlights turn from neutral to slightly yellowed, how about a shift to blue to make them neutral. Leaving that top left dot of a boat is the kind of thing I'd do just because, so keep it if you will, my feeling is it should go.
In a very low contrast image the fishing boat does stand out as very high contrast.
I hoped you wouldn't mind if I chucked some ideas into your mix.
Good luck, may the force be with you.

Not too minimal for me and agree with the above about losing the distant fishing boat on the horizon, although I have to confess I hadn't noticed it until I read the above comments!

The vignette is just a little bit too strong for me, but if it's not on the original then 'so what'.
