Continuing the coppicing heritage

View down from Brent Tor, Devon. Shame the coppicing was over, could have done with some figures down there. A sunny misty day devoid of colour but full of shadows.

This picture is really nice - I don't know whether you used much post processing but whatever you have done (I am using a cheap laptop screen at the mo rather than my home computer) is subtle but adds a nice feel to it. For me, it is a shame about the treetop at the bottom of the picture and since digging it up isnt an option wonder whether you should crop the photo so its not there (although I think this will spoilt the composition) or clone it out.

A lovely landscape, Jo. The use of the medium telephoto really helps compress the perpective. I should do this more often rather than always trying to cram everything in with a wide angle.
I agree with Stu: easy job to clone-out the tree at the bottom!

Thanks folks. Good point about cropping the top edge more, it is too fussy. No, I didn't do much to the image, just converted it to B&W and upped the contrast, as the beautiful mistiness of original obviously didn't translate - I've got a poor screen myself, so whatever I do is hit & miss!

I think a small crop at the top removing the most distant line of trees tautens the composition.
