I feel the heat AND the elevated water levels. Blurring both behind and in front of in-focus figure generates a feeling of uneasiness. Bravo!

Nice and simple. Effective. Pity the figures are not a little further left and lower? Or is one being too academic.

Grodgeman, I don't think the position of the figures is academic. I've had them all over the base image and at different sizes, at the end of the day this was my preferred positioning and sizing but, give it a month or two I may well be in agreement with you. I have kept several copies with the figure in various locations.
