I can almost hear that strange shuffling three cylinder exhaust beat. A great study.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Thanks Andrew, actually "Wadebridge" is sounding quite healthy at the moment, a fairly even exhaust beat! Unfortunately she is out of ticket soon....

A fine photo of Wadebridge in a rural setting. Andrew's 'strange shuffling exhaust' is the by product of a highly efficient exhaust system - rather like the East Coast Pacifics with Kylchap blast pipes and double chimneys. They don't sound as powerful as the Stanier Pacifics or Great Western engines but they got high pressure superheated steam in and out of the cylinders to good effect.

Lucky you got it when you did! Might be out of action for a long time!
