Giulio it's called a trigonometry point. They were built on prominent high places throughout the British Isles and used to survey the land and check heights. They are recorded on all Ordnance Survey maps, together with the spot height. You can see at least two other trig points from each one. They are now redundant due to GPS technology but we love them!

Oh, nice picture, by the way but a little underexposed, perhaps.

It was a very misty/foggy day hence the exposure

though with hindsight perhaps i could do a spot more ps to it

amazing scenery - I am just a bit distracted by the fact that the upper edge of the building is on te same line then the horizon - however - other might find exactly this exciting
