Crab spiders (Misumena vatia) move sideways and lie in wait on a flower to catch their prey. They can change their colour to suit the colour of the flower that they are on. Photographed in own garden B49 6BA

Very nicely captured, it could do with just a touch more light, but the details in the spider are very sharp.

BTW, I think the spider has got its camouflage a bit wrong on this flower!

Many thanks for comments. With regard to wanting a touch more light, - the photo was initially under-exposed and I recovered it in Photoshop Elements, However behind the plant was deep shade which even in another shot correctly exposed, the background came out very dark. The light on the wings of the fly and sharpness on the spider was not quite so good on the second shot. John
